Bulk purchase order to China
Big Bang Boom has repeatedly purchased directly from Chinese vendors, directly and indirectly. In our previous articles, we had published some of the evidence. Well, here is one more!

How does that sound for “India’s first indigenous handheld jammer gun”? An order worth USD $300k (~3 cr INR) given to Novasky (the Chinese vendor), by Big Bang Boom. This is a signed and rubberstamped copy from 10th of April, 2024. Contract is signed by none other than Dr. R Shivaraman, founder of Big Bang Boom. We are just scratching the surface here. In case you need to see what this picture looks like, kindly refer to our previous articles, or pay a visit to Big Bang Boom’s so called “factory” where they take deliveries of readymade, or ready-to-assemble products from China and slap their own Big Bang Boom logo stickers on the products.
Relationship between Big Bang Boom and Novasky did not start in 2024. Here is a screenshot of an email from Ms. Cathy Zhou (representative of Nano RADAR, another Chinese vendor closely associated with Novasky). The email is addressed to Mr. Venkatakrishnan (software lead in Big Bang Boom), Mr. Gokulakrishna (ex-Chief Engineer of Big Bang Boom) and Dr. Shivaraman. This company is completely dependent on Chinese vendors for both hardware and software, and all they do in India is frontend (UI) and Big Bang Boom stickers.

MoD funds to buy defense products from China
One of the crown jewels of Big Bang Boom is their success in iDEX projects. We will deep dive into it later in this article. But in this section, we provide evidence that MoD funds through iDEX projects were used to procure readymade defense products from China. One has to wonder how much data and requirements were shared across with the Chinese vendor(s).
One of the iDEX projects that Big Bang Boom won is “Caged Drone with TIC for fire fighting in confined spaces”. (Reference (Challenge 44)). As part of this project, Big Bang Boom is expected to build a drone that will assist with indoor firefighting and to be used by the Indian Navy. We will deep dive into this topic later. For now, let us review the MS1 (Milestone 1) bill summary that was submitted by Big Bang Boom, to iDEX, T-Hub, and the Indian Navy. Screenshot is presented below. Now kindly refer to row 69 in the screenshot. Under the Spark Grant Account, a Chinese vendor named Hunan Novasky was paid an amount of INR 4,22,248.13 on 1/30/2022. The invoice number is to be kindly noted as NOVGZ20221107. By the way, we have the Excel sheet with us, not just the screenshot.

The screenshot below presents the linked invoice:

The invoice number and date of purchase matches the details presented in the bill summary, along with the name of the vendor. Now, what’s interesting though, is the amount quoted on the invoice is around USD $10k (~INR 10 Lakhs) . Whereas, the amount mentioned in the bill summary is only around INR 4 Lakhs. What happened to the remaining amount? It was charged to a different iDEX project that Big Bang Boom has won. This is very typical of them to split purchases into different accounts and misappropriate MoD funds to buy defense products from China and label it as indigenous. The mastermind behind shuffling between multiple accounts and splitting the invoices across various grants is Mr. Kumaresan (accountant at Big Bang Boom). This is practically nothing short of hawala transactions. Big Bang Boom has now established partner shell companies in Taiwan, Singapore, UAE and multiple other companies to reroute the products from China, indirectly into India. More on that in the later article(s).
Let’s now focus on the screenshot of the invoice above and notice the description of the item purchased. It says “RF Test Kit”. Well, knowing it is from Novasky, and comparing the other invoices (emails, and messages), by now, everyone has figured out that it is the jammer gun that was purchased. Some questions are to be answered:
- What has Novasky (Chinese vendor) jammer gun or RF Test Kit have to do with the TIC project?
- How did a direct invoice from China miss the scrutiny of iDEX and T-hub? – This must be the responsibility of Ms. Aarti Maurya from iDEX, and Mr. Vivek Virmani from iDEX, along with Mr. Drona Sreenivas from T-Hub.
- How did the Indian Navy, the Nodal Agency for this project, miss this?
This is either a collective failure of the due diligence process across T-Hub, iDEX and Indian Navy (in which case it really is a shame and is deeply concerning), or some people from iDEX, T-Hub and Indian Navy were kept happy by Mr. Balasubramanium, Mr. Gaurav Sharma, et. al. from Big Bang Boom. Gold coins? Shares? š
One important question – All of these products from China are considered as contraband items and are banned from entering India. So, how does Big Bang Boom manage to get them inside the Indian territory? We will cover that later in this article.
“Caged Drone with TIC for fire fighting in confined spaces” – iDEX project
We briefly discussed this project in the previous section. Now let’s deep dive into the project itself and uncover more interesting details. According the the problem statement, Big Bang Boom is expected to build an autonomous drone that can fly indoor inside a Navy ship, navigate autonomously to identify the location of the fire and drop a fire suppressant payload on the fire location. The project was awarded to them in September 2022, and it is a 1 year long sprint project. Okay, we are in 2025 now, what has been built?

Are you wondering if we are hiding something from you? Bhagwan kasam, maa kasam, this is all that’s there to show. A drone that has a rope, and an operator walks around holding the rope while the drone bumps into every possible random object before finally fumbling and falling to the ground. That’s provided the drone even takes off. 7 out of 10 times it doesn’t even fly. Forget autonomy. So, a project that was supposed to be complete in September 2023, has received multiple extensions and we are now in September 2025 and here is what the company has to show in the name of indigenous technology? As per recent records, the company has completed MS4 (Milestone 4) which the nodal agency (Indian Navy), iDEX and T-Hub has approved. According to MS4 (there are only 5 milestones), the drone must be able to fly autonomously and accomplish the tasks in a restricted environment. Instead, this is what Big Bang Boom has achieved. A drone that barely flies. But, the project has exceeded both budget and timelines and is still graciously supported by iDEX, Indian Navy, and T-Hub. In a recent trial/demo in Cochin, the product miserably failed. And yet, MS4 has been approved. The officer from Indian navy that approved this is Cmdr Mishra (due to the sensitivity of the nature involved and respect to the uniform he adorns, we are not sharing the full name of the officer). We have some questions for Cmdr. Mishra:
- How did you clear this milestone with such substandard maturity of the product?
- How did Big Bang Boom receive so many extensions and grace period?
- No financial due diligence from your side?
We have some evidence that’s even more concerning. One of the reasons Big Bang Boom failed miserably in this project was because they made a sincere attempt to build something on their own. Well, at least on paper, while the funds were used to buy Chinese jammers and expensive trips to Israel, Bali, etc. In order to complete this project, Big Bang Boom finally decided that they will do what they usually do – import it from elsewhere. Enter – Foresight Autonomous Holdings Ltd. (Israeli company). Drone, sensors, and software were all brought in from Israel for a demo/trial in Cochin Navy facility. Here is where things look really bad.
Foresight’s camera, GPS modules, IMU sensor, IR sensor, thermal sensor, laser range finder, compute board, memory storage devices, and a lot of other sensitive “intelligent” components were taken inside Indian Navy’s ships, building facilities, and defense areas, without disclosing the fact that this tech is from Israel. Data and video was recorded despite Indian Navy officers denying permission to record data. Classified data from Indian Navy ship’s interior, video recording, point cloud data, data related to ship’s location, room alignment, placements, and objects inside the rooms – all of it are being actively shared with Foresight, in the name of collaboration and iDEX project. Mr. Naveen and Mr. Thanga Raj from Big Bang Boom were responsible for illegally and irresponsibly recording the data.
More importantly, team members from Foresight visited Big Bang Boom’s office facility multiple times, stayed there for a week, and they had access to other sensitive details related to technology being built for Indian Armed Forces customers. The Israelis also connected their laptops, mobile phones, etc. to BBBS’s Wi-Fi infrastructure. The Israelis were provided a dedicated and private room where they were left unmonitored and unattended for a long period of time.
As per compliance and law, Indian defense companies are supposed to disclose if foreign nationals are visiting their facility. Why was the visit from Israeli nationals never disclosed to the Indian government? How is this considered a responsible way of handling sensitive infrastructure? How much data was shared with them? How do you ensure that none of the team members from the Israeli company work with Shin Bet or Mossad? At least one of them has been confirmed to work for the Israel Defense Forces.
Concerning enough? Well hold on. We flagged this issue to Cmdr Mishra and Mr. Drona Sreenivas in the Month of June. Screenshot of our email is shown below:

Mr. Drona Sreenivas never bothered to reply. Probably too busy counting his gold coins. But we did get a reply from Cmdr Mishra and the screenshot is below:

Fair enough, right? He is confirming that the identity and the evidence will be kept confidential and handled appropriately by Navy personnel only. Except, see screenshot below:

That’s right. Cmdr Mishra showed our email(s) to Mr. Varun from Big Bang Boom while Mr. Varun was visiting Navy HQ office. Why is a serving Navy officer showing such a sensitive topic, and email to a representative of the company that was accused of committing some serious crimes? And on top of that, there were multiple phone calls alerting the company and tipping the team members off. Does this have anything to do with Mr. Varun’s brother who is a senior official in the Indian Navy, and is also posted as a Defense AttachĆ© overseas? It was also after this email that Big Bang Boom cleared MS4 in the TIC project. What does Cmdr Mishra have to say about this? He never responded to our emails after that.
And, oh yeah, while we are at this, let’s also look into this:

Yep. This is happening. Hardware, software, and everything to do with tech coming in from Israel and into India. What’s going out from India to Israel? Money, intelligence data.
Finally building an indigenous jammer?
Is Big Bang Boom finally building an indigenous jammer gun? Oh well, after we published our 2nd article, something interesting happened.

Big Bang Boom decided to collaborate (outsource, actually) with RF Microtech Electronics, a Gujarat based company. A purchase order was placed so that they will build a handheld jammer. This was dated 29th of May, 2025. What’s the status of this? The prototype is nowhere close to ready and the tech is not mature yet. But that’s okay! Building indigenous technology for EW products is challenging, time consuming, and it can be expensive as well! But that’s no reason to buy the product from China and falsely claim as “Made in India”. Let’s move on to the next topic.
Agra – 252 (Para) Air Defence Battery
Big Bang Boom participated in a live field trials conducted by 252 AD Bty in Agra with interest in procuring “Hard-kill Anto-drone” system which includes a RADAR to detect incoming drones, and a drone to intercept the incoming threat. As always, Big Bang Boom went there with a Chinese RADAR, and their in-house drone which barely managed to fly. The Big Bang Boom team for this trials was lead by Mr. Raghuvaran S (project manager and project lead), assisted by Mr. Praveen Devi (algorithm lead), Mr. Javvadi Venkat (UAV pilot) and Mr. Venkatakrishnan (software lead). Well, there is one issue. The trial team coordinators from 252 AD Bty never invited Big Bang Boom to officially participate in the trials. Who was invited? Adani Grp, and Micro Plast (link). Wait, what? Micro Plast? Yes. You read that right. This company has nothing to do with drones or RADAR or anything even remotely related to that. They are an injection and plastic molding company. Why were they invited for this trial then when there are so many other relevant competitors??? We’ll get to it shortly.
As we said earlier, Big Bang Boom showed up for the trials representing both Adani Group and Micro Plast. Same trial team from Big Bang Boom, same Chinese equipment, on the same day, just changing company T-shirts from Adani Group to Micro Plast, demonstrated the technology to the trial officers.
How did the demo go? Nothing worked, but trial went on successfully. How about that now? They brought the same piece of equipment that failed the trials in Gopalpur, Suratgarh, Udhampur and multiple other places.
Who were the trial officers from 252 (Para) AD?
- Lt. Col. Vivek
- Maj. Praveen
These 2 officers knew what exactly was going on, and did not even bother reporting anything to concerned authorities. This magic is brought to you by Mr. Ravi Kumar (sales guy from Big Bang Boom, based out of Pune š ) and Mr. Gaurav Sharma (sales guy from Big Bang Boom). There are plenty of records of this incident happening and we shared all the details with concerned agencies. We will let the readers, authorities and public judge and speculate what went on.
Big Bang Boom and iDEX projects
There is a long history between Big Bang Boom and iDEX, as they were one of the first startups to be awarded an iDEX project grant in India. Well done. Let’s review the status of their iDEX projects, shall we?
| No. | Project Name | Status |
| 1 | See Through Armour (STA) | Fully outsourced to Zuppa |
| 2 | Anti-Drone Defense System (ADDS) | Fully imported from Apolloshield and SkyCope. Lobbied heavily by PMO SURAJ and higher officials from IAF (Gp Capt Subbramanium and Air Marshal George Thomas) |
| 3 | TIC Caged Drones | lol š |
| 4 | Non-Lethal Vessel Immobilization System | No where close to even proving that the concept will work |
| 5 | Indigenous Morpene Compound | Fully imported from Russia |
| 6 | Multi-spectral camouflage cloak | Fully imported from various sources |
| 7 | Computer Generated Targets | Stuck in MS3 and luckily HAL is not approving the silly video game that is being presented as a defense product |
Given this is the case, and almost every single project mentioned in the cable can amount to a separate article and there are fraudulent activities in each project (similar to what we exposed in TIC Caged Drone project), how is Big Bang Boom continuously winning more iDEX projects? Why is iDEX not scrutinizing the status of the projects, or the quality of the product being built, or even conduct basic due diligence if the project is being procured from china? Mr. Vivek Virmani, do you have any answers?
Root Cause
We took our time to carefully observe and understand why Big Bang Boom is functioning the way it is functioning, and how it is negatively impacting the Aatmanirbha Bharat goals. We present to you the team structure of Big Bang Boom.

The simple assessment is that, top decision makers in the company are either friends of Dr. Shivaraman from SRM University, or have previously worked with him, or related to him, or they have to be related to someone from the leadership team, or must be related to a high level official from Indian Government (Armed Forces, DRDO, Ministry, etc.). We would like to draw your attention to specifically Mr. Sriram P and Mr. Kumaresan, the two people in the company that handles all finances, and accounts, are related to Dr. Shivaraman, have worked with him in the past, and are highly qualified. This, dear readers, is what the structure of a shell company looks like where majority of the transactions are hawala type transactions.
Some special mentions to the following team members based on our observation and evidence:
- Mr Balasubramanium – We wrote briefly about him in our previous article. The beauty is that, even after that, he got his Chinese visitor visa and was getting ready to go to China to meet their new vendor. Besides that, he is responsible for arranging tourism, honeymoon, and pilgrimage packages to key decision makers from the Indian armed forces and government. Remember we raised a question about how contraband Chinese products are being brought inside India by Big Bang Boom? Well, it is the skill of Mr. Balasubramanium. He does whatever it takes to keep the customs officers happy so that the consignments are released. Whatever it takes – beg, borrow, steal, bribing customs officers, purchasing expensive imported alcohol for them, arranging women (we are ashamed to even write this), etc.. Besides that, Mr. Balasubramanium is heavily involved in lobbying and distributing gold coins as well.
- Mr. Gaurav Sharma – Oh Well, gold coins, alcohol, arranging Russian women to decision makers (seriously, he has openly bragged about this to almost everyone in the team. No secret at all).
- Mr. Pranav C – He is Dr. Shivaraman’s go-to person to find loopholes in testing, standards, and certification process. He is apparently highly skilled in “getting things done” when the trials fail and the product doesn’t work out in the field. “Getting things done” – This, according to Dr. Shivaraman’s mantra that he preaches to all team members is – beg, borrow, steal, do whatever it takes to pass the trials.
There is one name that’s not listed in the table and we would like to highlight here. Retd. Col. John Prince. Officially retired from Indian Army’s prestigious Signals Regiment, now a consultant with Big Bang Boom. What does he do in the name of consulting?
- He is a course mate of Brig Kottiyal from PMO SURAJ who signed off on the INR 200 Cr contract for Big Bang Boom. He played a major role behind the scenes to lobby and get the contract signed.
- He sells contact details of serving officers who are either a CFA (Certified Financial Authority) or an IFA (Independent Financial Authority).
- Brokers deals with serving officers on behalf of Big Bang Boom. Meets them at fancy hotels and bars and closes dirty deals (shares, commission, percentage of profit share) with them so that the company can win more contracts.
- Despite knowing that the company sells Chinese tech, he pedals them as “Made in India”, uses his influence on junior serving officers and helps win contracts.
- Case in point is how he helped the company win a contract with the Army Training facility in Goa. Big Bang Boom will be delivering airborne SIGINT and ELINT systems to the end user. Really? We wonder which Israeli or Chinese company will win the purchase order this time.
- All it takes is 2 glasses of beer and he will do all of the above for literally anyone. He blurted out and blabbered directly to us assuming we were a defense company and he was selling his services to us. Ready to sell the nation for an extra penny. This is a man who once wore the prestigious OG uniform, and now he is selling his nation and former employer on the bazar.
Nothing wrong in faujis working for a defense company post their retirement. But a line has to be drawn to define their do’s and don’ts. This is not the only case though, there are so many examples of faujis selling out post retirement. Just within Big Bang Boom, we can refer to Capt. Mathi Alagan, Wg Cdr Hari, etc. who are eager to sell the country out.
I’m sure most of you (if not all of you) will remember the days where Indian defense products were just blindly procured from Russia and other Western nations. The foreign vendors were able to easily “buy” retired and serving officials, key decision makers within the MoD and other higher officials. They always had a long list of shell companies ready to resell the finished products in Indian markets and make huge profits out of it. Lot of money was made. Big profits. But it resulted in serious setbacks in terms of indigenous defense capabilities. Companies like Boeing, Airbus, IAI, Elbit, UAC, etc. had direct access to top officials from BEL, HAL, DRDO, MoD, and a long list of Indian OEMs. It is because of corrupt government officials such as Mr. Vivek Virmani (iDEX), corrupt CEOs such as Dr. Shivaraman, Mr. Praveen Dwarakanath (co-founder of Big Bang Boom, son of former Director of HAL) etc., our nation is still struggling to advance with indigenous capabilities.
146.39 karod kee population aur atyant pratibhaashaalee injeeniyaron va vaigyaanikon ke hote hue bhee, bhaarat ke lie apana fighter vimaan ya fighter vimaan ka injan banaana itana mushkil kyon hai?
We will tell you. It is not the fault of the engineers or the scientists or the assembly line workers. It is the corrupt officials who keep lobbying for foreign products. Take the Tejas Jet Engine as an example. Why is it so hard for HAL & DRDO to build the Kaveri engine? Why did they finally settle for the GE F404 Engine? Ultimately, we are back to relying on USA for an indigenous fighter aircraft. And even that, GE has been delaying the delivery of the engine, just so they can stall the manufacturing of LCA Tejas, only until a point where the Indian government would give in and scrap the project entirely, and procure the F-35, or some other jet from the USA.
Time to Scrutinize and Question
My dear fellow Indians, readers, government officials, decorated officers from the armed forces – everything we have covered in our articles before is nothing new. We have seen it all before. The Indian defense ecosystem has been taken for granted by prime OEMs and corrupt officials time and again and our nation has been strategically weakened because of the dirty deeds.
The Bofors scam, Tatra trucks case, Barak-1 missile procurement, HDW submarine case, Ordnance Factory Board bribery case, Agusta Westland VVIP choppers – the list goes on. Practically the defense ecosystem has been sold to Israel, Russia, US and China. When do we say enough is enough and when do we start acting vigilantly? When are we going to hold corrupt officials and individuals accountable?
The government and administration can only initiate and facilitate programmes such as Aatmanirbhar Bharat. It is finally down to every single citizen to make it a reality. When we allow corrupt and greedy founders, government officials and individuals to profit from selling the country out, the mission of Aatmanirbhar Bharat will never be fulfilled. The administration will look as if they have failed to accomplish the mission. And finally, as always, the ones who suffer the most are the armed forces personnel deployed in sensitive areas. Aatmanirbhar Bharat is a collective responsibility.
As we have emphasized earlier, this is not targeted only towards Big Bang Boom. They are just one of the companies that we are monitoring. The list is quite long and deeply concerning. We are not against founders making profit, we are not against investors making profit. We want the Indian defense ecosystem to boom, thrive and succeed. We want to see Indian defense unicorns boost the Indian economy! But all we ask for is genuine products, that are legitimately “Made in India”. We ask retired faujis to not sell the country. We ask serving government officials to thoroughly do their due diligence before signing contracts and milestone clearances.
We ask the investors to support startups, but try to be aware of what you’re investing in. At this rate, looking at some of the investors in companies like Big Bang Boom, they fit into 4 categories:
- Criminal – there is a nice long list of them. Cheap bas***ds who would do anything to earn money. Coming to it shortly.
- Careless – Those investors who fail to do their due diligence and end up supporting criminal founders.
- Curious – Those investors who are excited about the tech, hype and they fall for all the fancy presentations by the founders.
- Confused – They don’t know why they invested. FOMO?
Speaking of criminal investors, we have one investor that stands out – Mr. Rohit Chanana, now that you know the dirty truth about Big Bang Boom (you already knew all of these things anyway) and the details are public, are you still supporting them, dost? Are you still going to pedal fake positive information about Big Bang Boom (just because they’re your portfolio company) to cover up their screwups and treat your followers like chu***a, dost? Mr. Krishna Milan Rao, what do you have to say?
Closing Remarks
We sincerely request the Indian Government to carefully look into the evidence we have published and take necessary actions. If these are not the reasons to blacklist companies such as Big Bang Boom, we don’t know what could be the reason:
- They have not built a single working product. Did you know that they have been trying to build and deliver simple FPV drones for BEL as part of a contract (illegal closed tendering where Big Bang Boom themselves brought 3 other competitive quotations) and have not managed to deliver a single drone in flying condition? They have outsourced an entire contract to NeoSky to build a drone that carries a machine gun and are publicly claiming that it is their product. BEL is aware of this and are still supportive of Big Bang Boom. Perhaps Mr. Anup, Mr. Mathur and Mr. Subrath from BEL can elaborate on this? If not, we will cover the details in our next article.
- They have repeatedly imported readymade tech from China and sold it as Made in India. RADAR, jammers, EOIR sensors, entire eVTOL drones with payload, laser emitters, etc.
- They have outsourced large defense contracts to Israeli defense companies and simply whitelabeled the product to make it look as if they built it.
- They have repeatedly bribed senior and high ranking government and armed forces officials in order to win contracts.
Ye sabko bevakoof bana rahe hain! Something has to change. Until then, we will keep on publishing evidence and continue to name and shame people who are involved.
We also would like to dare the press to take this up and publish this as news. Run a journalistic investigation and find out? Or will you only publish articles about Big Bang Boom when they pay you? ANI News? Times of India?
This has been a long one, dear readers. Thank you for reading until this far. Thank you for the support. Thank you for giving us hope. Now we pass the ball to you. Do the right thing. Ask the right questions loud and clear. Scrutinize every single post on social media before blindly supporting them. This is a great nation and we cannot afford to let a small group of individuals sell the country out for profit.
